Job description

At Hudl, we build great teams. We hire the best of the best to ensure you’re working with people you can constantly learn from. You’re trusted to get your work done your way while testing the limits of what’s possible and what’s next. We work hard to provide a culture where everyone feels supported, and our employees feel it—their votes helped us become one of Newsweek's Top 100 Global Most Loved Workplaces. We think of ourselves as the team behind the team, supporting the lifelong impact sports can have: the lessons in teamwork and dedication; the influence of inspiring coaches; and the opportunities to reach new heights. That’s why we help teams from all over the world see their game differently. Our products make it easier for coaches and athletes at any level to capture video, analyze data, share highlights and more.

Your Role

We’re hiring a Director, Global IT to own how our corporate IT operates strategically, operationally, and at scale. You'll set global IT strategy, build efficient team structures, drive automation and AI-assisted processes, and lead internal and managed IT services across our global organization. As a strategic player‑coach, you’ll balance high‑level leadership with hands‑on execution to empower our teams to win.

As the Director, Global IT, you'll:

  • Define strategy and standards. You’ll own our multi‑year IT strategy and roadmap aligned with business growth. You'll set global IT standards, tooling, and operating practices across internal teams and managed partners while establishing a solid build‑vs‑buy framework.
  • Build efficient team structures. You’ll put the right org structure in place to ensure leadership and succession coverage. You'll focus on developing people, clarifying roles, and leveraging automation and documentation to reduce single points of failure.
  • Drive operational maturity. You’ll run IT as a measured service with clear SLAs, KPIs, and reporting cadences. You'll own endpoint, identity/access, and core infrastructure operations alongside Security and Engineering, scaling impact through AI‑assisted tooling.
  • Manage vendor and partner relationships. You’ll lead the Global Operations IT relationship under a 'One IT' model. You'll serve as the commercial and operational point of contact for key vendors, managing contracts and renewals.
  • Lead cross‑functional change. You’ll operate as a peer to leaders across Engineering, Security, Finance and People. You'll bring structure to ambiguous problems, communicate clearly with executives, and champion IT as an enabler of business success.
Location

Time spent collaborating with other Hudlies in‑office will be a regular part of how you work. We’re currently prioritizing applicants within commuting distance of Lincoln, NE. You’ll be expected to work more days in‑office than remote, but will have the freedom to coordinate your specific in‑office schedule with your team.

Must‑Haves
  • A balanced leader. You have experience leading distributed teams and owning strategy, budgets and standards while staying close enough to the work to earn credibility and execute when it matters.
  • An operational builder. You’ve built efficient team structures, established SLAs and KPIs, and implemented automation and cross‑training to scale impact without relying solely on headcount.
  • A strong technical partner. You possess solid technical fluency in enterprise security, identity/access, endpoint management and core corporate IT infrastructure.
  • A clear communicator. You speak directly, present bottom‑line‑up‑front to executives and build cross‑functional alignment across teams like Engineering, Security and Finance.
  • Pragmatic and low‑ego. You thrive in growth‑stage environments, know when to build vs. buy vs. partner, and naturally elevate your team through trust and delegation.
Nice‑to‑Haves
  • Managed service oversight. Experience managing external IT vendor partners operating in global regions like Egypt and India.
  • Global scope. Experience leading teams across multiple time zones, specifically in the U.S., U.K. and Italy.
Our Role
  • Champion work‑life harmony. We’ll give you the flexibility you need in your work life (e.g., flexible vacation time, company‑wide holidays and timeout (meeting‑free) days, remote work options and more) so you can enjoy your personal life too.
  • Guarantee autonomy. We have an open, honest culture and we trust our people from day one. Your team will support you, but you’ll own your work and have the agency to try new ideas.
  • Encourage career growth. We’re lifelong learners who encourage professional development. We’ll give you tons of resources and opportunities to keep growing.
  • Provide an environment to help you succeed. We’ve invested in our offices, designing incredible spaces with our employees in mind. But whether you’re at the office or working remotely, we’ll provide you the tech stack and hardware to do your best work.
  • Support your mental and physical health. We care about our employees’ wellbeing. Our Employee Assistance Program, employee resource groups and fitness partner Peerfit have you covered.
  • Cover your medical insurance. We have multiple plans to pick from to ensure you’ll have the coverage you (and your dependents) want, including vision, dental, fertility healthcare and family forming benefits.
  • Contribute to your 401(K). Yep, that’s free money. We’ll match up to 4% of your own contribution.
Compensation

The base salary range for this role is displayed below—starting salaries will typically fall near the middle of this range.

We make compensation decisions based on an individual's experience, skills and education in line with our internal pay equity practices.

This role will also be eligible for a long‑term incentive (LTI) award. Any bonuses awarded are based on individual and company performance paid at Hudl's discretion.

Base Salary Range: $142,000 — $237,000 USD

Inclusion at Hudl

Hudl is an equal opportunity employer. Through our actions, behaviors and attitude, we’ll create an environment where everyone, no matter their differences, feels like they belong. We offer resources to ensure our employees feel safe bringing their authentic selves to work, including employee resource groups and communities. But we recognize there’s ongoing work to be done, which is why we track our efforts and commitments in annual inclusion reports. We also know imposter syndrome is real and the confidence gap can get in the way of meeting spectacular candidates.
