Job summary

Brex is seeking a Financial Reporting Director to architect Brex’s GAAP-compliant reporting framework and lead global financial reporting across the organization. You will collaborate with partners across Product, Engineering and Legal to ensure timely, accurate disclosures and scalable processes for a fast-growing fintech.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Business, Finance, or Accounting.
• CPA license required.
• 10+ years of experience including time at a Big 4 firm and/or leadership in high-growth companies.
• Strong technical accounting and US GAAP knowledge.
• Deep understanding of financial services, credit card processing or payments accounting.
• Ability to translate complex accounting jargon for non-finance partners.
• Proactive in fast-paced environments with professional composure.
• Innovative mindset with ownership mentality.

Responsibilities

• Oversee global financial reporting function and ensure US GAAP compliance.
• Lead regulated entity reporting strategy with evolving regulations.
• Provide technical accounting guidance for complex transactions and product launches.
• Develop GAAP accounting policies and support major business initiatives.
• Maintain internal accounting policy library and implement new standards (FASB/SEC).
• Shape internal controls in preparation for Capital One SOX alignment.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Legal on new product launches.
• Ensure timely close with journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analyses.
• Drive process improvements via automation and cross-functional collaboration.
