Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior Gas Distribution Project Manager to oversee major construction projects across the Eversource gas distribution system and direct execution through oversight of crews and contractors.

You will collaborate with Engineering and Gas Distribution to ensure projects are properly designed, budgeted, timely, compliant, and safe, while developing standardized construction practices with Gas Operations Directors.

Responsibilities

• Manage major gas construction projects throughout the Eversource gas distribution system
• Direct execution of construction projects through oversight of Eversource and contractor crews
• Partner with Engineering and Gas Distribution to ensure projects are properly designed, budgeted, timely, compliant, and safe
• Develop consistent, integrated construction work practices with Gas Operations Directors
• Direct installation of gas facilities, restoration, and paving work
• Develop and implement project management standards and construction management tools
• Track construction progress, control changes, and maintain performance targets, schedules, budgets, and customer expectations
• Monitor key performance indicators, identify trends, and improve construction performance
• Ensure compliance with labor, vendor, customer, industry, regulatory, and contractual requirements
• Provide technical guidance on emergency response, construction, and gas work
• Represent Northeast Utilities with state agencies, municipalities, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders
• Develop the Construction Organization vision and workforce strategy
• Translate construction objectives into business cases supporting gas business growth and regulatory rate cases

Job description

Requirements

• Thorough knowledge of construction standards, work practices, procedures, and safety requirements


• Knowledge of design and construction of gas distribution facilities and equipment


• Knowledge of codes and regulations governing gas distribution system operation and maintenance


• Knowledge of project management techniques, tools, and software


• Strong administrative, communication, and leadership skills


• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, related discipline, or equivalent experience


• Master’s Degree or MBA preferred


• Minimum of twelve (12) years of gas distribution, utility, or technical experience


• Must be available for emergency restoration assignments


• Must be available to travel between Massachusetts, Connecticut, and New Hampshire as necessary


• Safety-sensitive position subject to drug testing, including pre-assignment and random testing


• Must not require immigration-related sponsorship; applicants requiring visa sponsorship to start employment will not be considered
