Job summary

Talladega College seeks a Director of Financial Reporting and Senior Accountant to lead accounting, financial reporting, and compliance. You will be the subject-matter expert in FASB not-for-profit accounting, oversee the month-end close, and ensure accurate financial statements and regulatory reporting.

The role requires CPA and 3+ years in higher education or not-for-profit settings, with hands-on Jenzabar ERP and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

• Requires 3+ years of progressive accounting experience in higher education or not-for-profit setting.
• CPA credential highly preferred due to FASB and audit prep requirements.
• Experience supervising professional accounting staff (Accounts Payable/Payroll) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Direct month-end and year-end close processes with fully reconciled ledgers.
• Prepare FASB-compliant financial statements (Balance Sheet, Activities, Cash Flows).
• Oversee Jenzabar ERP general ledger module, COA, and reconciliations.
• Serve as the primary audit liaison, producing schedules, workpapers,Footnotes, and reconciliations.
• Lead preparation of regulatory reports (IPEDS, Title IV, state reporting).
• Collaborate with Grants Accountant to reconcile restricted/unrestricted funds and SEFA.
