Job summary

Referment is partnering with a global financial services business to recruit a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis. You will lead FP&A partnerships across institutional markets, advising executives on profitability, capital allocation and growth while developing the team.

You will own budgeting, long-range planning, forecasting, and strategic analysis, translating complex data into actionable insights and shaping decisions at the highest levels of the organization.

Qualifications

• Ten years of FP&A, finance or business analysis experience with 5+ years in leadership.
• Direct experience supporting capital markets, institutional brokerage, securities financing, prime brokerage, fixed income or equities.
• Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and analytical skills.
• Executive communication and stakeholder influence to shape senior business decisions.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI with enterprise planning systems experience.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Act as lead FP&A partner to institutional markets businesses, advising senior stakeholders on performance, pricing, investment and growth decisions.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning across revenue, expenses, headcount and capital.
• Develop scenario and stress-testing models and improve forecast accountability.
• Prepare executive-level reviews of results, KPIs and drivers.
• Support regulatory reporting with capital, liquidity and profitability analysis.
• Partner with Corporate Development on acquisitions, investments and due diligence.
• Improve dashboards, management reporting and analytical capability through financial systems.
• Lead, mentor and develop FP&A team members.

Referment is working with a global financial services business seeking a Director of Financial Planning and Analysis to lead finance partnership across institutional fixed income, prime services, clearing and equities.

This is a senior, commercially focused finance role spanning strategic analysis, planning, performance management, regulatory support and corporate development. You will advise business leaders and executive management, translating complex financial and operating data into decisions on profitability, capital allocation and growth. The remit also includes leadership and development of FP&A professionals.

The Role

• Act as the lead FP&A partner to several institutional markets businesses, advising senior stakeholders on performance, pricing, investment and growth decisions.
• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts and long-range planning, covering revenue, expenses, headcount and capital.
• Develop scenario and stress‑testing models, identify performance risks and opportunities, and improve forecast accountability.
• Prepare executive‑level monthly and quarterly reviews covering financial results, KPIs, operating metrics and key business drivers.
• Support regulatory reporting with analysis of capital, liquidity and profitability, working alongside Finance, Compliance and Legal.
• Partner with Corporate Development on acquisitions, investments and strategic opportunities, including valuation, due diligence and post‑deal tracking.
• Improve dashboards, management reporting and analytical capability through financial systems and business‑intelligence tools.
• Lead, mentor and develop FP&A team members.

What We're Looking For

• At least ten years of progressive FP&A, finance or business‑analysis experience, including five or more years in leadership or people management.
• Direct experience supporting capital markets, institutional brokerage, securities financing, prime brokerage, fixed income or equities.
• Advanced financial modelling, forecasting and analytical skills.
• The executive communication and stakeholder influence needed to shape senior business decisions.
• Advanced Excel and Power BI capability, together with experience of enterprise planning systems.
• A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or a related discipline.

An MBA, CPA, CFA or equivalent qualification would be valuable, as would experience in a listed or highly regulated financial‑services environment. M&A, corporate‑development and Oracle EPM or Hyperion exposure are also useful.

This could suit an established FP&A Director or senior finance business partner from institutional markets who combines technical depth with team leadership and credible executive engagement.
