Job summary

Scientific Search is seeking a hands-on Director of Facilities in the Camden, NJ area to own and optimize biomedical lab facilities. You will lead all operations, oversee staff and vendors, manage permits and compliance, and support future campus plans.

This role demands strong leadership, technical knowledge of building systems, and a focus on safety and reliability. Ideal candidates bring life science facility leadership experience, familiarity with HVAC/electrical/plumbing, and proficiency

Qualifications

• GED required.
• Bachelor’s in Science or Business preferred.
• Life science/medical research facility leadership experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing & building systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Google Workspace and building management systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead all facility operations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing & security.
• Manage facilities staff, contractors, vendors & procurement.
• Oversee scientific equipment service agreements.
• Manage permits, compliance & government reporting.
• Serve as the 24/7/365 emergency facilities contact.

Take ownership of the facilities that protect and enable globally important biomedical research. My client needs a hands‑on facilities leader to ensure complex laboratory operations remain safe, compliant, resilient, and ready for the future—including supporting plans for a new campus.
