The position requires 10+ years of EHS leadership in manufacturing, strong cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to influence executive leadership.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Experience leading multi-site and global EHS programs.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, occupational health and safety standards, and risk management practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization within a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive complex initiatives from concept to execution.

The Director of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) provides strategic leadership for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's global environmental, health, and safety programs. This role is responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing organizational risk, advancing a culture of zero injuries, and driving environmental stewardship across all operating segments.

The Director partners with operations, engineering, quality, supply chain, field service, human resources, and executive leadership teams to establish world-class EHS systems, improve safety performance, and integrate EHS principles into business operations. The successful candidate will be a proactive leader capable of influencing organizational culture, driving accountability, and ensuring sustainable compliance and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute the global EHS strategy aligned with business objectives and operational priorities.
  • Establish enterprise-wide EHS goals, performance metrics, and accountability processes.
  • Serve as the primary advisor to senior leadership on EHS risks, regulatory changes, and emerging compliance requirements.
Environmental Compliance & Sustainability
  • Direct global environmental compliance programs, ensuring adherence to all applicable federal, state, local, and international regulations.
  • Monitor existing and proposed environmental regulations and assess their impact on company operations.
  • Drive waste minimization, recycling, resource conservation, and pollution prevention initiatives.
Health & Safety Leadership
  • Lead the development and deployment of a global EHS management system designed to eliminate injuries and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Establish and maintain corporate safety standards, policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Drive proactive risk identification, hazard elimination, ergonomic improvements, and industrial hygiene initiatives.
  • Analyze safety performance metrics and develop action plans to improve performance across all locations.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing recordable injuries, lost‑time incidents, and workplace risk.
Training & Organizational Development
  • Develop and deploy EHS training programs that build employee awareness, leadership accountability, and organizational capability.
  • Coach leaders at all levels on EHS responsibilities and expectations.
  • Promote employee engagement through safety committees, awareness programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Build a high-performing EHS organization through talent development, succession planning, and leadership coaching.
Stakeholder & Regulatory Relations
  • Represent the company with regulatory agencies, industry groups, customers, and community stakeholders as required.
  • Support customer audits and sustainability reviews related to environmental and safety performance.
  • Serve as the company's EHS subject matter expert during significant incidents or regulatory events.
Financial Management
  • Develop and manage global EHS operating and capital budgets.
  • Prioritize investments that reduce risk, improve compliance, and enhance environmental and safety performance.
  • Ensure efficient utilization of resources while maintaining high standards of compliance and employee protection.
Qualifications

The Salary range for this position is $158,650.00-$206,750.00.The specific Salary rate offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
