Job summary

Spencer Rigby has partnered with a global diagnostics leader in search of a Director of EHS, Biosafety, and Regulatory Compliance for its 4 manufacturing sites across TX, CA, IL and MN. The role focuses purely on EHS, biosafety and regulatory compliance with no facilities responsibility, allowing full concentration on building the function and unifying standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive EHS experience, including 2+ in life sciences, diagnostics, medical device, or biopharmaceutical.
• Experience building or rebuilding an EHS function from scratch.
• Proven leadership managing EHS teams across multi-site operations (2 sites minimum).
• Deep knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, biosafety, hazardous waste, and chemical safety regulations.
• Experience in FDA, ISO 13485 or GMP-regulated environments (preferred).

Director of Environmental Health & Safety

Location: Austin, TX or Cypress, CA

Onsite role with domestic travel up to 40% and international ~10%

Spencer Rigby has partnered with a global diagnostics leader in search of a Director of EHS, Biosafety, and Regulatory Compliance for it's 4 manufacturing sites across TX, CA, IL and MN.

With no established EHS function across the sites, you'll set the strategy, systems and standards from the ground up, becoming the company's first senior EHS leader, driving change across the business.

The role is focused purely on EHS, biosafety and regulatory compliance, with no facilities responsibility, so all of your time goes into building the function and bringing the 4 sites together.

What you'll own:

• EHS across labs, manufacturing, field operations and corporate functions
• Biosafety, chemical hygiene, PPE and hazardous materials programs
• Building EHS into product design, working alongside R&D and Manufacturing
• Safety at customer sites, supporting Field Service teams
• Incident reporting and dashboards that keep leadership ahead of risk

But you won't be doing it alone. You'll lead a team of 4 EHS professionals and work closely with all 4 Plant Managers to balance each site's needs and bring everyone onto one consistent EHS standard.
