AHMC HealthCare’s Whittier Hospital Medical Center seeks a senior nursing administrator to provide 24/7 patient care leadership and strategic operations oversight for designated units. Under the CNO, you will supervise nursing services and ensure multidisciplinary collaboration across the hospital continuum of care.

You will champion performance improvement, maintain regulatory compliance, and model the organization’s values while guiding teams through change and workforce development.

Responsibilities

  • Makes effective decisions that move the organization toward its vision and achieve the organization’s goals.
  • Integrates department services with other departments to assure coordinated hospital operations.
  • Communicates effectively in writing and verbally to ensure understanding. Leads through listening, questioning, etc.
  • Supports staff through monthly department meetings (10/year).
  • Effectively leads his/her group through change, dealing positively with resistance to change.
  • Effective in team building, conflict mediation and negotiation.
  • Demonstrates the willingness and ability to perform additional duties and responsibilities in different areas of the hospital on an as-needed basis or as determined by senior management.

  • Consistently projects positive professional image through appearance and behavior.

Job description

Under the direction of the CNO, provides daily and strategic administrative oversight/service line leadership and operational control to patient care units under his/her area of responsibility.

This position requires providing 24-hour Patient Care and nursing services including managerial/administrative supervision to nursing unit, which provides care/service across the continuum of care in a manner that, demonstrates an understanding of the functional and/or developmental age of the individual served.

This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the Mission of Whittier Hospital Medical Center. It is expected that the employee will demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values. The employee shall support Whittier Hospital Medical Center’s strategic plan and the goals and direction of the Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).
