IQVIA Laboratories in Valencia, CA seeks a Director to lead the Test Code Product & Lifecycle database domain. You will drive advanced database design, analysis, and performance optimization across a matrix organization, shaping systems for future business needs.

Responsibilities include leading teams, planning resource allocations, and delivering cost analyses, with emphasis on reliability, security, and scalable recovery strategies in regulated lab settings.

Formación

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Twelve (12) years of information technology experience.
• Eight (8) years experience in the database administration area.
• Experience in clinical or regulated laboratory environments is helpful.
• Experience applying database design approaches that consider existing and future needs, capacity, limitations, operating time and desired results.
• Experience evaluating database implementation approaches, backup strategies and recovery strategies.
• Knowledge of database administration activities including denormalization, data archival schemes, sizing, data definition language and database objects.
• Knowledge of referential integrity, security enforcement and application optimization.
• Other Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.

Responsabilidades

• Provide technical leadership and management direction to database administration team members.
• Manage resource allocations within a matrix-managed environment.
• Lead, plan and oversee state-of-the-art database designs to solve complex database processing problems.
• Perform complex database analysis and database design tasks using advanced techniques on the forefront of technology.
• Ensure databases meet required operational standards and performance levels, including reliability, response time and query execution time.
• Prepare cost analyses and justification for difficult database systems.
• Serve as a senior consultant to staff by providing strategic technical advice and consultation on database analysis and design reviews.
• Participate in the administration, monitoring, tuning and support of databases in the production environment.
