Director of Data Strategy & Analytics

Job Location: US, Remote. Candidate must reside and work within the US.

Job Overview

Lexia's data assets are central to how we grow and how we demonstrate impact. We are seeking a Director of Data Strategy & Analytics to lead the team that turns those assets into insight and action across the business, in alignment with our vision. Reporting to the VP, Strategic Planning & Business Enablement, the Director will lead Lexia's internal business analytics function, directly managing a team of analysts and combining human analyst work with AI-enabled, self-service capabilities to maximize the use and business impact of our engineered data assets. The Director will be the primary analytics partner to Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and the Lexia executive team, and will own strategy and governance for our BI and analytics systems. Reporting to this role is the leader of the Data Engineering team, responsible for data infrastructure and architecture. The Director of Data Strategy & Analytics will provide strategic leadership across both analytics and data engineering to ensure our data ecosystem enables business insights while maintaining the integrity, security, and confidentiality of enterprise data assets.

Job Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development

Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for data and analytics that aligns with the organization’s mission, vision, and strategy, leveraging data to optimize decision‑making, increase operational efficiency, and maximize impact. Manage, mentor, and develop a team of analysts, providing regular feedback and fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Own project management and prioritization for all business analytics work, including analyst and AI-enabled analytics projects, and oversee review and QA to ensure data products meet high standards for quality/accuracy, user-centricity, and action-oriented data storytelling. Support the Director of Analytics Engineering and foster a culture of continuous learning and development across the Data Strategy & Analytics team, promoting collaboration, innovation, and excellence.

Business Analytics & Insights

Drive analyst efforts to mine revenue, operational, and customer data and turn them into insightful KPIs, models, and dashboards that help our teams pursue revenue optimization and operational efficiency. Partner with stakeholder teams across the organization to identify opportunities for leveraging data to drive innovation and improve operational efficiency.

Self‑Service & AI-Enabled Analytics

Develop and maintain a scalable suite of self-service dashboards, AI agents, and conversational interfaces that enable non-technical staff to ask and answer questions of our data directly. Establish enablement frameworks for self-service analytics that drive adoption, empower users, and provide guardrails to ensure effective and appropriate use. In partnership with Analytics Engineering, oversee the integration of AI capabilities into analytics tools and workflows to scale self-service and operational efficiency.

Cross-Functional Partnership

Serve as the main point of contact and key data partner for Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and senior leadership, ensuring the alignment of analytics efforts with business needs and priorities. Serve as the main point of contact for Cambium and Veritas analytics requests and collaborations, delegating to and partnering with the Director of Analytics Engineering as appropriate. Translate business needs into clear downstream data requirements and metric definitions, partnering with the Director of Analytics Engineering to ensure the right data warehouse marts and Tableau Cloud data sources are provisioned, and providing input into data architecture, integration, and AI infrastructure decisions.

Analytics Systems, Tools & Governance

Own Tableau/BI system strategy and governance, in collaboration with other analyst teams across the organization. Lead vendor and tool procurement and management for analytics systems and team tools, in consultation with the Director of Analytics Engineering. Chair Lexia's cross-functional data governance group, collaborating closely with Legal, IT, and data leads to establish and maintain data and AI governance policies, procedures, and controls, and own policy compliance and appropriate sensitive data usage across DS&A-owned systems, staff, and products. Stay abreast of emerging trends and technologies in advanced analytics, AI, and data management, and provide strategic recommendations for business innovation and responsible use.

Job Requirements

Bachelor's degree in data science, statistics, economics, business, computer science, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.

10+ years of experience in analytics, data strategy, or a related field, with a proven track record of delivering data-driven solutions that drive business impact.

5+ years of experience managing, coaching, or leading data analysts or analytics teams.

Exceptional leadership and management skills, with experience leading high-performing teams in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Excellent quantitative and analytical skills with experience in data visualization, statistical modeling/machine learning, and go-to-market domain analyses (e.g., campaign attribution, price sensitivity, account scoring, retention/churn analysis).

Professional proficiency in analytics and BI tools that align with our tech stack (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Python or R), and working knowledge of data engineering and cloud data platforms (e.g., Dbt, Redshift, AWS) sufficient to partner effectively with Analytics Engineering.

Expertise in data management, including metric definition, data governance, and data quality management.

Demonstrated experience building or implementing AI-assisted analytics workflows, such as AI agents, natural language query interfaces, or LLM-driven analytics, with a deep understanding of the data privacy, security protocols, and ethical governance required to deploy them, including hallucination guardrails.

Familiarity with sales and customer data platforms (e.g., Salesforce) and experience within a SaaS B2B or B2G organization preferred.

Excellent communication, data storytelling, and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations for executive and non-technical audiences.

Strategic mindset and the ability to manage challenging priorities across multiple stakeholders.
