Job summary

Morgan Stanley in Baltimore seeks a Director on the Central Data Team within Operations Risk & Regulatory Control (ORRC). The role translates strategy into execution by establishing governance routines, improving data quality and lineage, and enabling automation and AI.

You will collaborate with Silo Data Leads, Technology, the central Transformation team, and ORRC Data Strategy to coordinate delivery, standardize reusable patterns, and move teams to certified, well-controlled data sources.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in data governance or data management within financial services.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional delivery and governance routines.
• Ability to lead by example and present constructive challenge to senior stakeholders.
• Understanding of risk management and controls in a regulated environment.
• Proven track record working across Operations, Risk and Technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex processes and support major process or project efforts.
• Lead process improvement, project management, or technology development across teams.
• Analyse ambiguous issues; identify risks and root causes; propose actions to resolution.
• Build and manage relationships with business partners and other Morgan Stanley functions.
• Implement governance frameworks and control routines aligned with standards and regulations.
• Manage regional backlog by refining requirements and coordinating sequencing with partners.
• Drive data quality, lineage, and access controls to support automation and AI; track risks.
• Coordinate delivery with Silo Data Leads and Technology; standardise patterns and share assets.
• Enable adoption of data tools and publish dashboards and progress reports to stakeholders.
