Overview

Are you passionate about turning data into a trusted business asset? As the Director, Data Governance, you will build and lead our enterprise-wide data governance program, establishing the policies, standards, and operating framework that ensure data across the organization is accurate, secure, well-defined, and trusted.

In this highly visible leadership role, you'll partner with IT, Legal, Compliance, and business leaders to shape governance strategy, improve data quality, and drive enterprise adoption of governance best practices. You'll play a critical role in helping the organization make confident, data-driven decisions while ensuring compliance with evolving regulatory requirements.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing evolution of the enterprise data governance framework, including policies, standards, and operating procedures.
  • Establish and chair the Data Governance Council, partnering with business, IT, Legal, and Compliance leaders to drive accountability and resolve data ownership challenges.
  • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing team of data stewards and governance analysts.
  • Partner with data engineering and IT teams to implement and optimize data catalogs, metadata repositories, and data lineage capabilities.
  • Define, monitor, and report on data quality metrics, governance KPIs, and remediation initiatives to executive leadership.
  • Ensure enterprise data practices align with applicable regulatory requirements and privacy standards, including GDPR and other relevant regulations.
  • Lead enterprise Master Data Management (MDM) initiatives, establishing trusted "golden records" for critical business data.
  • Develop training and change management programs that improve data literacy and encourage adoption of governance practices across the organization.
  • Stay current on emerging governance technologies, industry trends, and regulatory changes, recommending improvements that strengthen the organization’s data capabilities.
What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking a collaborative and strategic data leader who combines deep technical knowledge with the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or a related discipline, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven success designing and implementing enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
  • Strong understanding of data quality, metadata management, master data management, and modern data architecture principles.
  • Experience with leading data governance platforms such as Collibra, Alation, Informatica, Atlan, or similar solutions.
  • Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations, including GDPR and other applicable data protection laws.
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, along with modern data ecosystems including Databricks or Snowflake.
  • Excellent communication, executive presentation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build consensus across cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Data Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CDMP, DGSP, or similar.
  • Experience within the gaming industry.
Keys to Success
  • Be a strategic leader who can establish enterprise-wide governance programs that scale with the business.
  • Build strong partnerships across IT, Legal, Compliance, and business functions to drive alignment and accountability.
  • Balance governance with business enablement, creating practical processes that improve data quality without slowing innovation.
  • Use metrics and data-driven insights to measure success and continuously improve governance effectiveness.
  • Champion data literacy and foster a culture where data is treated as a trusted enterprise asset.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, translating complex governance concepts into actionable business outcomes.
