Job summary

FirstEnergy Corp. is seeking a regional director to lead customer account operations, align regional strategies with corporate objectives, and oversee budgets and performance metrics across WV/MD footprint.

You will manage billing, rate issues, and customer engagement for commercial and governmental clients, while coordinating with legal, regulatory, and community partners to address policy changes and ensure compliance. Travel across the footprint is required to fulfill these duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Affairs, Communications, or a related field.
• 10 years of relevant work experience in customer account management, external affairs, or regulatory relations, preferably within the utility or energy sector.
• Strong leadership and team management experience.
• Understanding of municipal government processes, public policy and stakeholder engagement strategies.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
• Understanding of utility regulations, public policy, and community engagement strategies.
• Willingness to travel across service territory.

Responsibilities

• Direct state customer account operations and ensure high customer satisfaction.
• Liaise between customers, regional leadership, and corporate teams.
• Represent the company in customer forums and regional meetings.
• Manage billing, power quality, and rate verifications.
• Develop strategies to enhance customer service and retention.
• Identify process improvements through technology and best practices.
• Lead crisis communication for service disruptions.
• Ensure compliance with state and local regulations.
