Job summary

Houston Community College seeks a Curriculum & Learning Initiatives professional to ensure the integrity and ongoing relevance of the college's curriculum. You will design professional development for instructional leaders and lead curriculum change initiatives across departments and programs.

The role requires a Master's in a relevant field, 5 years of experience (3 in curriculum development in higher education), and strong collaboration with state agencies.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction or Higher Education Leadership.
• 5 years work-related experience, including 3 years in curriculum development in higher education.
• Curriculum development in Texas higher education preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide input into policies to ensure curriculum integrity and scope.
• Develop and maintain SOPs for the curriculum change process.
• Prepare annual reports to THECB, including Licensure and Certification and Local Needs Report.
• Design and direct delivery of professional development for program coordinators/directors.
• Collaborate with instructional leaders and campus staff on curriculum changes.
• Maintain an annual calendar of deliverables and provide monthly progress reports.
• Supervise staff coordinating curriculum change and manage the Curriculum Department Budget.
• Conduct quarterly and annual unit assessments to foster improvement.
• Serve as Chair of Curriculum Council and Core Curriculum Council.
• Maintain the Master Inventory of Programs, Awards, and Courses for district and accrediting bodies.
• Stay abreast of curriculum maintenance rules at college, state, and regional levels.
