Job summary

PayPal, Inc. seeks a Director of Cybersecurity Engineering in Scottsdale, AZ, to lead the organization that owns cryptographic material, keys, certificates, secrets, and the services behind them.

You will manage managers and senior engineers across PKI, certificate lifecycle, key management, HSM platforms, cryptographic libraries, and post-quantum readiness. You will drive multi-year security strategy, enterprise crypto-agility, and regulatory readiness, while partnering with Cloud, Identity,

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years in software, platform, or security engineering with 5+ years leading engineering teams
• Ownership of production cryptographic infrastructure incl PKI, certificate lifecycle, key management, HSMs
• Experience with TLS, trust stores, and cryptographic services in enterprise environments

Responsibilities

• Lead multi-team, globally distributed engineers and managers across PKI, key management, cryptographic services, and post-quantum readiness
• Drive multi-year security roadmap aligning with business goals and compliance needs
• Shape enterprise crypto-agility, regulatory readiness, and vendor strategy for CAs and CLM/HSM platforms
• Represent cryptography to CISO leadership and executives, communicate risk and priorities
