As adirector of crisis and issues communications, you will…

Protect and Strengthen Starbucks Reputation-Leada small team responsible forcommunications strategy and response for issues that could impactthe business ortrust in Starbucks, ensuring the company communicates quickly, thoughtfully and consistently across external and internal audiences, including partners (employees) as well as traditional and social media.

AdviseLeaders Through Complex Business Challenges-Serve as a trusted, solutions-orientedcommunications counselor tocross-functionalleaders, partnering closely with Legal, Partner Resources, Operations,GovernmentAffairsand Investor Relations to assess risk, shapemessagingand guide decisions in fast-moving situations.

Build and Lead the Company's Issues Response Capability-Developandmaintainthe processes, plans, relationships and team readiness needed toidentifyemerging issues early, coordinate responses at scale and ensure Starbucks is prepared for bothanticipatedand unexpected challenges.

  • 10+ years ofexperience in crisisand issues communicationsfromconsumer brand,retail, politicalcampaignsor similarhigh-profile, high-volumeorganizations.
  • Proven experience ininfluencingperceptionsthroughdeepmedia relations and navigating afar-movingsocial media landscape.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
