• Lead high-priority strategic initiatives that will drive transformative change and position AbbVie for future success.
• Provide targeted support for AbbVie's long-range strategic planning process, including working with leaders to share their strategies with AbbVie's Board of Directors.
• Partner with and advise senior leadership team on topics relevant to their own functional areas.
• Support communication of AbbVie's strategy across the enterprise.

Job Description

The Corporate Strategy Group partners with R&D, Commercial and other leaders to drive mission-critical initiatives that support the long-term ambitions of the enterprise and make a meaningful difference for AbbVies patients. The Director, Corporate Strategy Group will be responsible for driving high-impact strategic initiatives, facilitating robust enterprise-level strategic planning, and monitoring and assessing AbbVies external environment. This highly visible role provides exposure to executive leadership and may serve as a pathway to broader leadership opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate enterprise discussions on external trends, competitor strategies and potential disruptors, and translate these to strategic choices
• Shape our corporate priorities; drive clarity and alignment on our sources of growth (therapeutic areas, modalities, platform capabilities, etc.)

Qualifications

• Masters degree required; PhD or other advanced degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Sciences, etc.) preferred
• Minimum of three years of experience in a top-tier consulting firm with healthcare experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional teams and drive alignment across senior leaders; ability to influence without authority
• Strong analytical skills with working knowledge of financial concepts
• Strong oral, facilitation, and written communication skills with ability to distill complex information into clear messages and deliverables
• Executive presence, comfort with ambiguity, and strong judgment
• This is a hybrid role requiring at least three (3) days onsite, Tuesday through Thursday, in our North Chicago, IL offices.
