DePuy Synthes is recruiting for a Director, Content Governance & Copy Review located in West Chester, PA or Palm Beach Gardens, FL or Warsaw, IN or Raynham, MA.
The Director, Content Governance & Copy Review is a strategic leadership role within the Global Education Capabilities organization. This leader will establish and oversee enterprise content governance standards, review processes, and quality controls that ensure educational and commercial content is accurate, compliant, consistent, and aligned with brand and business objectives. Drawing on Director-level expectations for leading cross-functional initiatives, governance processes, stakeholder engagement, and organizational standards, this role will shape how educational content is created, reviewed, approved, and maintained across global markets.

The role offers broad exposure across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Marketing, Regulatory, Legal, and Global Education teams while driving scalable processes that support high-quality learning experiences and business impact.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the global content governance strategy for educational and commercial learning materials across the Commercial Global Education Capabilities function.
  • Establish and maintain governance frameworks, approval workflows, editorial standards, and review processes for educational content.
  • Direct copy review activities to ensure accuracy, consistency, compliance, and alignment with approved claims and messaging.
  • Partner with Commercial, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, and Quality teams to support efficient content development and approval processes.
  • Develop policies, procedures, templates, style guides, and best practices to drive content quality and operational excellence.
  • Monitor governance effectiveness through metrics, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives; identify opportunities to streamline review cycles while maintaining compliance.
  • Lead cross-functional projects related to content lifecycle management, content repositories, digital asset governance, and content modernization efforts.
  • Provide strategic guidance to senior stakeholders on content governance risks, compliance considerations, and process improvements.
  • Build organizational capability through training, coaching, and change management initiatives that promote adoption of content governance standards.
  • Manage operational aspects of the function, including resource planning, budget oversight, compliance activities, and talent development.
Qualifications
Education
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English, Marketing, Education, Life Sciences, Healthcare, Business, or a related field.
Preferred
  • Master’s degree in Communications, Education, Healthcare, Business Administration, Regulatory Affairs, or a related discipline.
Experience and Skills
Required
  • Minimum of 10–12 years of relevant professional experience in content governance, content operations, medical/legal/regulatory review, communications, educational content management, marketing operations, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives and governance programs within a highly regulated environment.
  • Experience establishing policies, standards, processes, and quality controls for content creation and approval.
  • Strong knowledge of content lifecycle management, editorial review processes, and content quality assurance practices.
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive alignment across diverse functions and global teams.
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience leading teams and developing talent in a matrixed organization.
Preferred
  • Experience within MedTech, healthcare, life sciences, pharmaceuticals, or medical education environments.
  • Understanding of healthcare compliance, promotional review, regulatory requirements, and claims review processes.
  • Experience with digital asset management, content management systems, or learning platforms.
  • Knowledge of global education and commercial capability development programs.
  • Experience leading large-scale process transformation or content modernization initiatives.
  • Change management and project management expertise.
  • Experience working with global, regional, and local stakeholders across multiple geographies.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is :

150,000.00 - 300,000.00 USD Annual

Additional Description For Pay Transparency

Subject to the terms of their respective plans, employees are eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program. Subject to the terms of their respective policies and date of hire, employees are eligible for the following time off benefits:

  • Vacation –120 hours per calendar year
  • Sick time - 40 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Colorado –48 hours per calendar year; for employees who reside in the State of Washington –56 hours per calendar year
  • Holiday pay, including Floating Holidays –13 days per calendar year
  • Work, Personal and Family Time - up to 40 hours per calendar year
  • Parental Leave – 480 hours within one year of the birth/adoption/foster care of a child
  • Bereavement Leave – 240 hours for an immediate family member: 40 hours for an extended family member per calendar year
  • Caregiver Leave – 80 hours in a 52-week rolling period10 days
