Vantage Data Centers is seeking a Director of Construction to lead our growing project management team onsite in Shackelford County, Texas. You will oversee development from concept through commissioning, align work with corporate goals, and coordinate internal stakeholders to deliver high‑quality data center facilities.

The role requires 7–10 years in management, CSx/MEP experience, and strong proficiency with MS Project or Primavera P6.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, or equivalent experience.
  • 7–10 years in a management role; 10–15 years preferred.
  • Data Center construction experience preferred.
  • CSA (civil, structural, architectural) and MEP construction management required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management tools like MS Project or P6.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of construction including master planning, design, permitting, bidding, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
  • Create and manage project budgets and monthly forecasts with variances.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders and manage direct reports and third‑party resources.
  • Ensure work products meet Basis of Design, specs, code, and lease requirements.
  • Support sales and client engagement; manage delivery in line with leases.

Construction implements and executes upon the work product developed by the Development & Engineering (D&E) team. The team also manages Vantage’s build partners to success through technical feedback and review, and actively participating in review of schedule and budget. Many times, a role like this at other companies is purely oversight. This approach empowers each member of the team to drive high- impact decisions and even more impactful results.Position Description*This position is based on-site in Shackelford County, Texas.*Vantage is looking for a driven Director of Construction to provide overall leadership for our growing project management team and key internal stakeholders as we expand the company. This position will be based onsite at one of our locations and will oversee new development, design, entitlement/permitting, and all aspects of construction. As a leader, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects and teams as well as ensuring all projects are in alignment with strategic corporate objectives. Collaboration and integration in the sales lifecycle process including client interface is integral to the role. Coordination and translation of requirements from Vantage’s internal subject matter experts ensures long term operational sustainability is preserved while driving towards optimized construction delivery.Essential Job FunctionsLead all aspects of construction including master planning, pre-construction, design, permitting, entitlements, competitive bidding, team selection, construction, commissioning, and project closeoutCreate and manage project budgets and establish monthly forecasts including variancesAct as thought leader and drive coordination and integration of internal stakeholders within the projectManage direct reports and third-party project management resources and track staffing utilizationDutiesManage campus-wide execution of development projects from concept through commissioning and prepare various reports on a monthly and/or quarterly basisOwn resource allocation and project workflow for direct reports and third-party project management continent workforceDrive day-to-day construction decisions to conclusionQA/QC work products of direct reports to confirm accuracy.
