Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle seeks a strategic leader to grow its clinical trials portfolio, strengthen sponsor relationships, and scale the business development function. You will design outreach plans, work with investigators and operations, and drive long-term growth aligned with scientific priorities.

The role requires deep knowledge of the lifecycle, contracting, and regulatory processes, with proven ability to close deals and manage key accounts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree (MBA, MPH, or life sciences) strongly preferred.
• 8–10+ years in clinical research business development, sponsor relations, or clinical operations.
• Deep understanding of the clinical trial lifecycle, sponsor/CRO relationships, contracting, and regulatory processes.
• Proven track record cultivating and closing relationships with pharmaceutical and biotechnology sponsors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to grow clinical trial volume and quality across disease areas.
• Partner with investigators and leadership to assess capacity, feasibility, and strategic fit for trials.
• Build and promote the institution's reputation by reducing study start-up timelines and creating sponsor materials.
• Represent the institution at conferences, sponsor meetings, and networking events to strengthen visibility.
