Description du poste

We are seeking a Director of Clinical Procurement to lead sourcing and supplier management for our late-stage clinical program. Reporting to the Head of Global Clinical Operations, this leader will shape clinical procurement strategy, guide selection and oversight of clinical vendors, and help ensure the program has the capabilities and capacity it needs to execute successfully across regions.

The Director will work closely with Clinical Operations, Central Procurement, Finance, Legal, Quality, and other cross-functional partners. The role combines strategic planning with hands‑on leadership of complex sourcing decisions, contract negotiations, supplier performance, and clinical procurement activities within Generate's established procurement governance framework.

Here’s how you will contribute:
  • Develop and lead the clinical procurement strategy aligned with Generate's broader procurement strategy, for the late-stage program, aligned with clinical development plans, study timelines, and operating priorities.
  • Partner with Clinical Operations and functional leaders to forecast vendor needs, assess sourcing options, and plan procurement activities across the program lifecycle.
  • Lead clinical vendor sourcing and evaluation processes and develop selection recommendations with Clinical Operations and relevant functional owners, following Generate's established procurement review and approval requirements, including CROs, central laboratories, imaging providers, eCOA and technology vendors, logistics providers, and other trial-related suppliers.
  • Coordinate with the Procurement Department on suppliers and agreements that serve both clinical and other business functions.
  • Structure and run competitive processes, vendor evaluations, due diligence, and selection recommendations.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and contracting for clinical services in partnership with Procurement Legal, Finance, and relevant functional owners; seek value while supporting quality, delivery, and continuity of supply.
  • Establish clear scopes of work, budgets, service expectations, change controls, and performance measures for key suppliers.
  • Build effective vendor governance with Clinical Operations, including business reviews, issue escalation, corrective actions, and performance improvement plans.
  • Monitor supplier capacity, financial health, delivery risks, and dependencies that could affect study execution; develop mitigation and contingency plans.
  • Support clinical budget development, cost analysis, accrual forecasting, and ongoing spend management in partnership with Finance and study teams.
  • Maintain procurement processes and documentation consistent with company policies, applicable regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Contribute to process improvements, procurement reporting, and practical guidance for teams engaging clinical suppliers.
  • Maintain regular alignment with the Senior Director, Procurement and Strategic Sourcing on clinical sourcing priorities, negotiation strategies, supplier risks, and procurement policy matters; escalating issues through established clinical and procurement governance channels.
  • Lead and develop clinical procurement team members or matrixed project resources as the function and program needs evolve, coordinating with the Procurement Department on shared resources.
The Ideal Candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain, life sciences, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant professional certification is a plus.
  • 12+ years of relevant experience in clinical procurement, strategic sourcing, or vendor management within the biopharmaceutical or clinical research industry.
  • 5+ years of experience leading teams, major sourcing initiatives, or complex cross-functional programs.
  • Experience supporting global, late-stage clinical development programs, including complex, multi-country studies.
  • Demonstrated success leading vendor selection, commercial negotiations, and contract management for clinical services.
  • Working knowledge of clinical trial operations, clinical service provider models, and the needs of cross-functional study teams.
  • Experience managing supplier performance, budgets, risks, and escalations across multiple vendors and workstreams.
  • Strong financial and analytical skills, including the ability to assess proposals, pricing structures, forecasts, and cost drivers.
  • Familiarity with regulated clinical development environments and relevant quality and compliance expectations.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build productive supplier relationships.
  • Proven ability to lead through collaboration, prioritize competing demands, and deliver in a dynamic environment.
Who Will Love This Job:

The successful candidate is a strategic and practical leader who can move between program‑level planning and detailed commercial decisions. They bring sound judgment, build trust across functions, and keep procurement focused on enabling high‑quality, timely clinical execution.
