Job summary

Seattle Children’s Hospital is seeking a senior nursing leader to supervise Clinical Nurse Specialists and Unit Based Clinical Quality Leaders. You will drive continuous improvement in nursing quality and patient safety, and spearhead the organization’s nursing quality plan aligned with the overarching patient safety strategy.

The role requires a Master's degree in Nursing (or related field) with a current WA RN license, BLS certification, and 3+ years in acute pediatric nursing with leadership

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing or related field with BSN required.
• RN license in Washington state; certification within 3 years.
• Current BLS; PEARS or PALS acceptable in lieu of BLS.
• Minimum 3 years pediatric acute nursing with quality initiatives协调 experience.

Job description

Provides direct supervision of all Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNS) and Unit Based Clinical Quality Leaders across the organization. Responsible for the continuous improvement of nursing quality and safety programs. Is responsible for planning, development, and execution of a comprehensive quality and patient safety plan for nursing that is consistent with the organizational patient safety and quality plan. Acts as the nursing leader for various initiatives including the safe patient handling program and others as needed.

Relocation provided for qualifying external candidates.

Required Education and Experience

Master's degree in Nursing; may be substituted with a Master’s in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field provided the candidate also possesses a Bachelor's degree in Nursing (Candidates currently enrolled in a Master’s program will be considered.

Individual must complete program within three years in position and maintain solid performance).

Minimum three (3) years of work experience in acute pediatric nursing, including a minimum one year of experience in coordinating quality improvement initiatives, workflow, methods and procedures of Project Management, or equivalent, and one year of nursing leadership experience.

Required Credentials

RN license in Washington State.

National certification in a clinical specialty area must be obtained within three years of employment.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers.

Current PEARS or PALS certification will be accepted in lieu of BLS.

A copy of a graduate degree in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of a Master's degree in nursing is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire.

If a Master's degree is in Business Administration, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, a copy of the degrees or transcripts indicating attainment of a Master's degree and Bachelor's in Nursing degree is to be on record with Human Resources upon hire.

If a Master's degree is in process, a copy of the Bachelor's degree in Nursing or transcripts indicating attainment of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and a notation of the expected Master's completion date is to be on file with Human Resources upon hire.

Preferred

Five or more years of progressive leadership experience in acute care pediatric nursing.

Strong experience leading leaders.

Compensation Range

$180,884.00 - $271,326.00 per year

Salary Information

This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
