Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 8–12+ years in healthcare supply chain, GPO contracting, or strategic sourcing with leadership experience.
  • Experience across Med/Surg formulary and Purchased Services sourcing preferred.
  • Advanced Excel and data analytics skills with experience in contract management systems.

Responsabilités

  • Execute category strategy and priorities set by two Sr. Directors; translate into actionable plans.
  • Lead sourcing negotiations, renewals, and supplier evaluations across categories.
  • Balance time and resources across portfolios; align with priority projects and savings opportunities.
  • Manage and develop a team of category managers and sourcing analysts; set goals and coach.
  • Track savings, rebate capture, and total cost of ownership for product and services spend.
  • Identify gaps between contracted value and execution; drive corrective actions with cross-functional partners.
  • Serve as liaison with GPO partners and suppliers; escalate strategic issues as needed.
  • Prepare category performance updates and savings pipelines for senior leadership.
  • Support formulary governance and value analysis processes for Med/Surg; support Purchased Services governance.

Hybrid based at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN, with on-site work required Monday through Wednesday for candidates in Nashville and surrounding areas.

JOB SUMMARY

The Director, Med/Surg Formulary & Purchased Services Sourcing is a shared support role serving both the Sr. Director of Sourcing – Med/Surg and the Sr. Director of Sourcing – Purchased Services. This role executes category strategy set by the two Sr. Directors, leads day-to-day sourcing negotiations and supplier relationships within that strategy, and manages the team and processes that ensure the organization captures the full contracted value of its agreements across both product and services spend.

The Director operates as a hands-on partner to both Sr. Directors, translating their category priorities into execution, and represents the organization in supplier and GPO negotiations across both categories on their behalf.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Execute category strategy and priorities set by the Sr. Director, Med/Surg and the Sr. Director, Purchased Services, translating direction from each into actionable sourcing plans.
  • Lead sourcing negotiations, contract renewals, and supplier evaluations across both categories, in coordination with and under the guidance of the respective Sr. Director.
  • Balance time and resources across the two portfolios based on each Sr. Director's priorities, savings opportunities, and contract cycles.
  • Manage and develop a team of category managers and sourcing analysts covering both Med/Surg formulary and Purchased Services; set goals, review performance, and grow team capability.
  • Support each Sr. Director in tracking savings targets, rebate capture, and total cost of ownership across product and services spend.
  • Identify gaps between contracted value and actual execution across facilities and departments; recommend and drive corrective action in partnership with clinical, operations, materials management, and finance leadership.
  • Serve as a day-to-day liaison with GPO partners and suppliers/service vendors, escalating strategic issues and contract decisions to the appropriate Sr. Director.
  • Prepare category performance updates, savings pipeline reporting, and recommendations for each Sr. Director to present to senior leadership.
  • Support formulary governance, including new product evaluation, standardization initiatives, and value analysis committee processes, for the Med/Surg portfolio.
  • Support Purchased Services governance, including vendor consolidation, service-level performance, and contract compliance, across contracted service categories.
  • Partner cross-functionally with clinical, nursing, operations, materials management, and finance leadership to drive adoption of category strategy.
  • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting on savings capture, compliance, and category performance trends for both Sr. Directors.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education

Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree in healthcare administration, supply chain, or business preferred.

Experience
  • 8–12+ years of progressive experience in healthcare supply chain, GPO contracting, category management, or strategic sourcing, including people-leadership experience.
  • Experience across both product (Med/Surg) and services sourcing preferred; comfort managing a portfolio that spans clinical supply agreements and contracted service relationships.
  • Demonstrated track record leading complex negotiations and delivering measurable savings at scale.
  • Experience building and leading a team, with strong coaching and performance management skills.
  • Advanced Excel/data analysis skills; experience with GPO portals, contract management systems, and executive reporting tools.
  • Strong communication and relationship-management skills, with the ability to work effectively under and align priorities between two senior leaders.
  • Comfortable operating in a matrixed reporting structure, balancing competing priorities and adapting to shifting direction from two Sr. Directors.
