Job description

The Director of Career Services is responsible for guiding all aspects of online and on-ground graduate student career and professional development for Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine (SPHTM). The Director will collaborate with the academic and professional community to position the profile of the school and align Career Services operations with the SPHTM's mission and strategy. The Director will support student and alumni professional development by developing and delivering career advising and group programming as well as networking opportunities. The Director will develop and maintain external relationships with employers and professional associations that will foster career opportunities for current students and alumni. The Director will be responsible for individual career-related advising, resume and career document approval, employer relations, career services operations and technology enhancements.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Strong interpersonal and public speaking skills

Knowledge of US and international job search process and opportunities

Highly developed oral and written communication skills

Proficient with multiple computer software programs (spreadsheets, databases, word processing, etc.)

Strong organization skills and ability to multitask

Required Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree required

Three years experience in career services, student services, or other relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in public health, higher education administration, counseling, or human resources

Exposure to career services at a college or university or human resources experience

Compensation Information

This position is classified as "exempt, salaried" and is assigned to pay grade 26.
