Job summary

Consult is seeking an experienced Director of Biostatistics to provide strategic and client-facing leadership across multiple clinical programmes. The role combines biostatistical expertise with team leadership, client management, resource planning and business development.

You will lead 15–20+ professionals, oversee international programmes, nurture sponsor relationships and guide proposals and account growth while driving quality and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• 12+ years' experience in biostatistics/clinical research, ideally in a CRO.
• Proven track record leading large teams and managing client relationships.
• Strong communication and leadership to drive multi-project programmes.

We’re supporting a growing Clinical Analytics organisation looking for an experienced Director of Biostatistics to provide strategic, client-facing and operational leadership across multiple clinical programmes.

The role will combine biostatistical expertise with team leadership, client management, resource planning and business development.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead and develop large biostatistics/biometrics teams of 15–20+ professionals
• Provide oversight across complex and international clinical programmes
• Build and maintain senior-level client relationships
• Lead resourcing, project oversight, timelines and budgets
• Partner with Business Development on proposals, presentations and account growth
• Act as a senior escalation point for complex project and operational issues
• Drive quality, process improvement and operational excellence across the function

Looking for:

• 12+ years' experience in biostatistics/clinical research, ideally within a CRO
• MSc/PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field preferred
• Proven experience managing large teams
• Strong clinical trial experience across multiple therapeutic areas
• Excellent client-facing, communication and leadership skills
• Commercial mindset with experience supporting business development and expanding sponsor relationships
