Job summary

Frontage Laboratories in Exton, PA, is seeking a Director of Biologics, Cell & Gene Therapy to lead technical operations, growth, and service delivery across viral vectors, cell therapies, and recombinant biologics.

The role requires 10+ years in biopharma, with 4+ in a CDMO/CRO leadership capacity, and strong client relationships, regulatory know-how, and strategic oversight to drive high-margin programs and global audits.

Qualifications

Education: Ph.D. or M.S. in Biotechnology, Bioengineering, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or related life sciences field.
Experience: 10+ years in biopharma with 4+ years in a leadership role within CDMO/CRO or contract testing.
Client-facing leadership: success managing client relationships, SOW scope, revenue targets, and multi-project portfolios in ATMP/CGT.
Technical breadth: deep knowledge of process/analytical development, vector biomanufacturing, cell processing, and regulatory expectations for ATMP/CGT services.

Responsibilities

Lead external biopharma partnerships as executive point of contact for governance and milestone delivery.
Collaborate with BD to scope technical proposals and develop SOWs, evaluating feasibility and presenting capabilities.
Direct cross-functional teams through technology transfers, analytics development/validation, and CGMP product testing.
Ensure global cGMP/GLP compliance and host client audits and regulatory inspections.
