Job summary

Worker’s Justice Project (WJP) seeks a Director of Development and Communications to lead strategic fundraising and media outreach. The role partners with the ED and leadership to secure funding for WJP and its divisions, including Los Deliveristas Unidos and Liberty Cleaners.

Fluency in English and Spanish is required to effectively engage workers, donors, and partners. The candidate will oversee fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, and communications, guiding a team and coordinating with

Qualifications

• At least 8 years of fundraising experience including securing and managing foundation grants.
• 3 years of management experience leading a team.
• Excellent written, verbal, and listening communications skills.
• Fluency in English and Spanish is required, with professional Spanish communications
• Experience building donor relationships and engaging with high-level allies and donors.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans with the ED and program directors.
• Manage major gift prospects and a donor pipeline across multiple revenue streams.
• Oversee communications materials, media relations, and donor communications.
• Lead a development and communications team with supervision and mentoring.
• Coordinate donor briefings, tours, and events to connect donors with WJP’s mission.
• Prepare grant proposals, letters of interest, and foundation reports.
