Fieldguide is seeking a Director, Audit Transformation in the US to lead the shift to an agentic audit operating model. You will drive expertise design, adoption, and scaling across large CPA firms, partnering with product, engineering, and customer success to embed professional standards into AI-driven workflows and methodologies.
You will shape strategy, transform engagements at scale, and represent Fieldguide to regulators, firms, and industry bodies.
This is a high-impact, senior individual-contributor-to-leadership role at the intersection of Big 4 audit expertise and cutting-edge AI — a rare combination that commands strong market positioning.
Compensation Context: No salary is listed, but Director-level roles at well-funded VC-backed SaaS companies (Series B/C, $125M+ raised) in San Francisco typically range from $180,000-$250,000 base, with meaningful equity upside. The "competitive compensation packages with meaningful ownership" language reinforces this. Joining at this stage — before the company reaches full scale — maximizes equity value potential.
Skills You'll Build:
Green Flags: 50%+ market penetration of top-100 CPA firms is exceptional traction. Industry-leading NPS signals real customer love. The Goldman Sachs / Bessemer investor roster adds credibility and exit optionality.
Watch For: This role spans product, customer success, sales support, and external thought leadership simultaneously — a wide remit that can lead to overextension without clear prioritization. Candidates should probe the reporting structure and team size during interviews to ensure adequate support.
Overall, this is a career-defining opportunity for a CPA with transformation experience who wants to shape the future of audit AI rather than implement someone else's vision.
Fieldguide is establishing a new state of trust for global commerce and capital markets through automating and streamlining the work of assurance and audit practitioners with AI agents. Based in San Francisco, they have raised over $125M+ in venture funding from top Silicon Valley investors, including Growth Equity at Goldman Sachs Alternatives, Bessemer Venture Partners, 8VC, Floodgate, Y Combinator, Justin Kan, Elad Gil, and more.
Fieldguide has become the defining agentic company for CPAs, with more than 50%+ of the top-100 CPA firms as customers, including several Big 4, and an industry-leading NPS to match. They save up to 75% of time on manual tasks and unlock over 4x capacity for audit practitioners, helping provide the work-life balance that is rare in the profession. Fieldguide is on the same growth curve as the later-stage vertical AI leaders, but you would be joining early enough to have a meaningful impact.
Fieldguide values diversity, both in backgrounds and in experiences, to help build the future of audit and advisory. They are deliberate in preserving a winning culture with their FFLOWI values — Fearless, Fast, Lovable, Owners, Win-Win, Inclusive — providing space for teammates to do their career's best work through a tightly-knit support network.
If you want to shape the most important shift in how commerce and capital markets establish trust, alongside world-class teammates, Fieldguide would love to build with you.
The Director, Audit Transformation will lead the shift from traditional audit execution to an agentic operating model. Reporting to the Head of Audit, you will set the direction for how financial audit agents are designed, adopted, and scaled across the customer base.
You will serve as the connection point between the Fieldguide agentic platform and the profession it serves. In partnership with product, engineering, sales, and customer success, you will define the scope of the audit expertise behind an agentic operating model — rather than layering agents onto legacy processes — including the documentation required to satisfy professional standards and withstand regulatory inspection. With Customer Success, you will establish the change management framework that guides firms from initial adoption through full transformation, built for consistent delivery at scale.
You will also support the Head of Audit on strategic planning and special initiatives that translate audit strategy into execution and go-to-market initiatives.
This role calls for a leader with audit credibility earned through leading engagements, shaping methodology, or driving innovation within a leading firm, together with the conviction that professional judgment remains central to the audit. This is an opportunity to define how audit is delivered in the next decade, not to refine how it is delivered today.
