Job summary

NASA Johnson Space Center is seeking an experienced Director of Audience and Evaluation to lead the Audience and Evaluation team at its Official Visitor Center. You will shape a comprehensive evaluation strategy guiding exhibits, operations, and informal education programs with data-driven insights.

You will design instruments, oversee ethics in research, and translate findings into actionable guidance for teams, budgeting and proposal support, and staff development.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social sciences or related field.
• Minimum 7 years in evaluation and research for informal education settings.
• Experience planning and reporting on evaluation projects (front-end, formative, summative).
• Direct experience coordinating with stakeholders and teams.
• Strong knowledge of quantitative and qualitative evaluation methods.
• Proven written and oral communication skills; grant proposal support.
• Ability to train staff and delegate evaluation work.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead audience research and evaluation strategy for exhibits and programs.
• Establish evaluation standards, best practices, and ethical guidelines.
• Lead community research to inform strategy and priorities.
• Design data collection instruments, analyze data, and report insights.
• Provide budget guidance and contribute to proposals and reports.
• Facilitate cross-department workshops to align goals.
• Maintain organization-wide evaluation dashboards and reporting processes.
• Mentor and develop the Audience and Evaluation team.
