L3Harris Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Director of AI & Digital Transformation for the Space and Mission Systems segment.

The role leads AI strategy, data, and digital initiatives across PMX, aligning AI governance with enterprise objectives and driving data-driven decision making. Responsibilities include building the AI roadmap, guiding adoption of digital tools, and coordinating with cross-functional teams to improve program execution and risk management.

Competenze

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience; Graduate Degree with 13 years; or 19 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years experience as a functional manager.
• 5+ years leading digital transformation and AI implementation.
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), copilots, AI agents, and prompt engineering.
• Experience redesigning processes using digital technologies and data governance

Job Description:

This Director, Artificial Intelligence role leads functional Artificial Intelligence (AI), data, and digital strategy for the Space & Mission Systems (SMS) Segment Program Management Excellence (PMX) organization - connecting AI strategy to program execution. Leading full stack development of integrated data, tool, and business process optimization efforts. Identify, prioritize, develop, and deliver capabilities that improve program execution, decision quality, schedule performance, and risk management that enable program leaders to make faster, more data-driven decisions.

Essential Functions:

• Establishes Program Management AI/digital roadmap, use cases and investments, governs implementation, and drives adoption across the PM community while ensuring alignment with enterprise AI governance


• Be a strategic thought leader, ability to identify where AI can create measurable value


• Leads segment implementation strategy for digital / automation enterprise initiatives (Program Digital Cockpit, Control Tower, Business Intelligence, etc.) to ensure objectives are measured, issues resolved, and commitments met


• Driving adoption of new technology


• Cultivates organizational trust and relationships


• Understand data architecture and resolve data integrity issues


• Take AI concepts from use case to business case to prototype to deployment


• Manage data pipelines, digital tools, and repository available to segment program and functional communities


• Coordinates with stakeholders to seek input, align vision, gain buy-in


• Ensures capability advancement projects are executed within lead time to need; budgeted accordingly


• Travel to other sites as needed to execute objectives, estimated 10-15%


• Must be able to obtain a U.S. security clearance upon starting

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 15 years of prior related experience. Graduate Degree with a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 19 years of prior related experience.


• 5+ years experience as a functional manager


• 5+ years experience leading digital transformation and artificial intelligence implementation


• Prior or current experience in a program management role


• Professional experience collaborating across functional teams including Program Management, Digital/Information Technology (IT), Engineering, Data & Analytics, AI transformation teams


• Professional experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), copilots, AI agents, and prompt engineering


• Professional experience redesigning processes, models, and workflows using digital technologies


• Professional experience working with AI and cybersecurity data governance

Preferred Additional Skills:

• Active U.S. Security Clearance is preferred


• Experience in aerospace-defense industry


• Progressive leadership experience across program management, business, digital strategy, engineering, analytics, artificial intelligence, data architecture, technology


• Ability to influence senior leadership regarding matters of strategic importance to the function or organization


• Experience with program management with deep understanding of planning, scheduling, risk management, and business acumen


• Strong accountability mindset, ensuring team performance is measured and accountability followed through

In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Florida, New York, and Texas is $165,500 - $307,500. The salary range for this role in New Jersey is $191,000 - $354,500. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location. The specific programs and options available to an employee may vary depending on date of hire, schedule type, and the applicability of collective bargaining agreements.
