Qualifications

Summary
  • The Director, Ambulatory Capacity & Operational Excellence is a senior operational and financial leader within CPUP Administration responsible for driving entity-level performance across a complex ambulatory network comprising 19+ academic departments and over 250 ambulatory practices.
  • This role focuses on optimizing operational workflows, improving operational and financial performance, and enhancing access and capacity across physician, advanced practice provider (APP), staff, and physical space resources.
  • The Director provides oversight of ambulatory operational efficiency, establishing performance standards and leveraging data driven insights to improve throughput, resource utilization, and care delivery across all ambulatory sites.
  • This role is accountable for identifying variation, standardizing best practices, and advancing continuous improvement initiatives that enhance both patient experience and provider productivity.
  • The Director leads strategic process improvement initiatives and oversees centralized cost containment efforts, including vendor management, supply chain optimization, and materials management.
  • In partnership with finance and operational leadership, this role drives ambulatory strategies to reduce costs, improve margin performance, and maximize the value of shared services and procurement activities.
  • This role manages a small but high-impact team and collaborates closely with access, clinical, financial, supply chain, and operational stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational goals related to cost containment, growth, efficiency, and patient access.
Education or Equivalent Experience
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (Required)
  • 7+ years Healthcare operations, ambulatory care, patient access, with 2+ years of healthcare leadership (Required)
  • Experience managing large, multi-site teams Experience leading managers, supervisors, and frontline staff (Required)
  • Master of Arts or Science (Preferred) and 5+ years healthcare operations, ambulatory care, patient access, with 2+ years of healthcare leadership. Experience managing large, multi-site teams Experience leading managers, supervisors, and frontline staff.
