Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related field.
• 10+ years in supply chain, logistics, spare parts, RMA, reverse logistics, or post-sale ops.
• Global logistics and after-market ops experience for complex tech hardware.
• Deep understanding of spare parts strategy, warranties, RMA, repair, and reverse logistics.
• Ability to build scalable operating models, processes, and governance in high growth.

Job description

This position will lead a team responsible for spare parts material readiness, CTB process and policy development and global after-market supply chain organization supporting IREN’s AI hardware infrastructure. Reporting to the Sr. Director, AI Hardware Supply Chain Operations, this leader is responsible for ensuring the availability, movement, recovery, repair, and replacement of critical AI hardware across IREN’s global data center footprint.

This role leads a team responsible for Logistics and Spare Parts & RMA Management, establishing the operating strategy, processes, systems, supplier relationships, and performance standards required to maximize hardware availability and minimize downtime. The organization will manage the complete lifecycle of hardware after procurement, including inbound and outbound logistics, spare inventory, failure recovery, OEM RMAs, repairs, replacements, reverse logistics, and asset disposition.

The Director partners closely with Procurement, Materials Management, Technical Sourcing, Integrated Planning, Engineering, Data Center Operations, Network Operations, Finance, and OEM partners to ensure critical hardware is positioned appropriately, failures are resolved quickly, and logistics and service operations scale with IREN’s rapidly expanding AI infrastructure footprint.

The ideal candidate is a strategic and operational leader with deep experience in technology hardware logistics, spare parts management, RMA operations, reverse logistics, and global supply chains. This leader must be comfortable operating in a highly dynamic environment.

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, Business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, logistics, materials management, spare parts, RMA, reverse logistics, or after-market operations.
• Proven experience managing global logistics and after-market operations for complex technology hardware, ideally GPUs, servers, networking equipment, optics, storage, or data center infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of spare parts strategy, inventory positioning, OEM warranty programs, RMA processes, repair operations, and reverse logistics.
• Proven ability to build scalable operating models, processes, systems, and governance mechanisms in high-growth environments.
• Demonstrated experience managing OEM, repair, logistics, and third-party service providers against contractual and operational performance requirements.
• Strong understanding of inventory optimization, service-level management, failure rates, lead times, repair cycles, and total lifecycle cost.

• Experience managing geographically distributed operations, including EMEA and APAC.
• Exceptional cross-functional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive accountability across internal and external organizations.
• Experience in AI infrastructure, hyperscale, cloud, data center, telecommunications, or high-performance computing environments preferred.

• Own the global strategy for AI hardware logistics, spare parts, RMA, repair, replacement, and reverse logistics operations.
• Build a scalable after-market operating model capable of supporting IREN’s rapidly expanding global AI infrastructure footprint.
• Establish service-level objectives, operating standards, processes, KPIs, and governance mechanisms across logistics and hardware recovery operations.
• Develop strategies that balance hardware availability, response time, inventory investment, logistics cost, and total lifecycle cost.
• Partner with the Sr. Director, AI Hardware Supply Chain Operations to establish the broader AI hardware supply chain strategy and operating model.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead and develop the Logistics Manager and Spare Parts & RMA Manager, establishing clear objectives, accountability, and performance expectations.
• Build a high-performing organization with strong operational discipline, analytical capabilities, and cross-functional partnership.
• Establish standardized operating processes and best practices across logistics, spares, RMA, repair, and reverse logistics.
• Develop organizational capacity, systems, and processes in anticipation of IREN’s continued AI infrastructure growth.
• Establish regular business reviews and performance cadences to drive continuous improvement and accountability.

RMA, Repair & Hardware Recovery

• Own the global RMA and hardware recovery strategy, including failure identification, authorization, transportation, repair, replacement, return, and disposition.
• Establish and manage OEM and repair-provider service-level agreements covering replacement availability, repair turnaround, warranty coverage, and quality.
• Drive supplier accountability for RMA performance, including turnaround time, repair yield, repeat failures, and replacement rates.
• Partner with Engineering and Data Center Operations to identify systemic hardware failures and drive root‑cause analysis and corrective action with suppliers.
• Establish processes for advance replacement, depot repair, field repair, and other recovery models based on hardware criticality.
• Ensure warranty claims and supplier recovery opportunities are fully captured and managed.
• Develop lifecycle and disposition strategies for failed, repaired, obsolete, and end-of-life hardware.
• Optimize transportation cost, speed, reliability, and service levels.

Systems, Analytics & Continuous Improvement

• Establish scalable systems and data processes for tracking serialized assets, inventory, RMAs, warranty status, repair history, logistics movements, and hardware disposition.
• Develop executive dashboards and KPIs covering spare inventory, service levels, RMA aging, repair turnaround, failure rates, logistics performance, transportation costs, and supplier performance.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve visibility across the hardware after-market lifecycle.
• Use failure, inventory, logistics, and operational data to continuously optimize service levels and total cost.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase hardware availability, reduce downtime, improve recovery times, and lower lifecycle costs.

Other Important Requirements

• This role involves frequent travel to data center, supplier, repair, warehouse, and logistics sites.

Compensation

• The expected base salary for this role USD $250,000 – 310,000/annum.
  • Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications, and market data for the region.
• Total Compensation package may be inclusive of annual incentive bonus, equity (long-term incentive).
