Job summary

CSL is seeking a Director, Agentic Software Development to advance AI/ML and automation initiatives in a hybrid role based in King of Prussia, PA, Waltham, MA, or Maidenhead. You will lead the creation of agentic applications and promote governance across R&D and IT teams.

You will drive adoption, surface high-value use cases with external partners, and ensure alignment with enterprise data workflows, with potential for incentive compensation and equity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data science, engineering, CS or closely related discipline.
• Proven track record delivering production-ready AI/automation solutions.
• Strong proficiency with data science environments, MLOps, scripting and automation.

Responsibilities

• Convert AI/ML and automation strategies into actionable plans across R&D teams.
• Lead the creation of applications and agents using modern tooling to advance business goals.
• Promote governance for AI/ML and automation, including validation and MLOps.
• Partner with R&D, IT and external groups to surface high-value use cases.
• Drive user adoption through training and community development.
• Align solutions with enterprise data platforms and established workflows.
• Track KPIs and contribute to compliance records and audit readiness.

Requirements

Must have:

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Data Science, Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related discipline.
• 10 years of experience applying AI/ML, automation, or analytics within R&D or the life sciences sector.
• Proven track record of delivering production-ready solutions with modern agentic development tools such as Claude Code, Codex, and similar platforms.
• Strong proficiency with data science environments, MLOps practices, scripting, and automation technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Convert AI/ML and automation strategies into actionable plans and projects across R&D teams.
• Lead the creation of applications and agents using modern agentic tooling to advance business objectives.
• Promote strong governance for AI/ML and automation, including ethical application, validation, and MLOps.
• Partner with R&D stakeholders, IT, and external groups such as the Pistoia Alliance to surface and rank high-value use cases.
• Drive user adoption through training, community development such as guilds, and sharing success stories.
• Align solutions with enterprise data platforms and established workflows to support smooth integration.
• Track KPIs and contribute to compliance records and audit preparedness.

This hybrid Director, Agentic Software Development role is based in our King of Prussia, PA, Waltham, MA, or Maidenhead, UK office, with onsite work three days per week. The role reports to the Senior Director, R&D Advanced Analytics, Automation and AI. The selected candidate may also be eligible for incentive compensation and equity in addition to base salary.
