Job description

Additional Compensation: Commission on originated revenue, bonus potential

We are working with a specialist US consulting firm looking to hire a Director within its growing Digital Forensics practice.

This opportunity is designed for an experienced forensic practitioner who wants to remain close to the work while continuing to build their own client relationships and book of business.

You will lead complex digital forensic engagements for law firms and corporate clients, working across the preservation, collection, examination and analysis of electronic evidence. The role will also involve expert reports, declarations and testimony, alongside the opportunity to develop further as a recognized expert in the market.

Unlike a traditional delivery-only role, you will also be encouraged to build your own practice. This could include developing existing relationships, winning new engagements, speaking at industry events, delivering CLEs, publishing thought leadership and building relationships with attorneys and corporate clients.

What you will be doing
  • Lead digital forensic investigations across computers, mobile devices, enterprise systems and cloud environments
  • Develop defensible forensic methodologies, collection protocols and evidence-handling processes
  • Advise law firms and corporate clients on complex forensic and electronic evidence matters
  • Prepare expert reports, affidavits and declarations, with the opportunity to provide testimony
  • Scope engagements, develop proposals and oversee delivery
  • Develop and expand your own client relationships and personally attributable book of business
  • Participate in pitches, conferences, CLEs and wider business-development activity
  • Mentor junior members of the forensic team
What we are looking for
  • Approximately 10+ years of Digital Forensics, forensic technology or closely related experience.
  • Strong hands-on experience across forensic collection, examination and analysis
  • Professional services or consulting experience strongly preferred
  • Experience working with law firms, corporate legal teams or complex investigations
  • Some exposure to expert reports, depositions or testimony
  • Evidence that you have started developing your own client relationships and generating work
  • Commercial ambition and an interest in building toward your own established practice

The target at Director level is to develop toward approximately $750,000 in individually attributable annual revenue.

This is particularly suited to someone who is already a strong practitioner but wants more autonomy, greater commercial ownership and a clear route toward Managing Director.

If it sounds like you, I look forward to hearing from you!
