Job summary

DSV is seeking a Director – Solutions to lead operational strategy for a large geographic region, based in Fort Worth, TX. This role drives growth, profitability, and resource management, while shaping talent development and client engagement across core services.

The position requires a decade in logistics operations management with regional responsibility and a strong track record in improving cost control, margins, and client satisfaction within a matrixed corporate structure.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or an equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 10 years logistics operations management experience with big‑box, e‑commerce, or specialty retailers and at least 5 years as a regional operations leader managing multiple locations.
  • No required certificates, licenses, registrations, or professional designations.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Company strategy including growth and transformational initiatives; develop regional strategies that align with enterprise targets; ensure targets are achieved while meeting local needs.
  • Plan and budget regional financial targets, ensuring results are achieved against those targets.
  • Ensure operational excellence within and across our core services through standardization of existing practices, risk assessment, and review of key metrics.
  • Provide leadership and create an environment that fosters passion, teamwork, and agility within the organization.
  • Develop and execute initiatives in talent selection and development to improve associate engagement.
  • Build and sustain long‑term client relationships; support local, regional and global sales initiatives by partnering with key clients and delivering a high level of client focus to business initiatives.
  • Plan and execute start‑up facilities for new business.
  • Spearhead teams and partner with clients to troubleshoot and solve existing issues or problems.
  • Contribute as a key member of our sales and solutions team in winning strategic accounts.
  • Develop and implement an operations strategy tailored to our client that identifies opportunities to improve cost control and margin improvement, leading to organic growth.
  • Consistently work within a complex matrixed environment.
  • Work collaboratively and establish solid business relationships with supporting departments, including but not limited to Human Resources, Sales, and Finance.

Job Summary

The Director of Operations provides overall direction and guidance to the operational activities of the organization. The Director provides strategic leadership and management to Operations within a large geographic region, striving to maximize growth and profitability while responsibly managing regional resources in accordance with company and client expectations and policies. The Director develops and implements long‑ and short‑term strategies to achieve financial and growth targets, develops emerging talent and successors, and creates a work environment that promotes the values of DSV.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform special projects as required.
Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise General Managers and other operational staff.
  • Interpret policies, purposes, and goals of the organization for subordinates.
  • Manage performance of direct reports, building bench strength by leading, developing, and challenging operations teams to raise individual and collective performance levels through discretionary effort.
Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Logistics, or an equivalent field.
  • Minimum of 10 years logistics operations management experience with big‑box, e‑commerce, or specialty retailers and at least 5 years as a regional operations leader managing multiple locations.
  • No required certificates, licenses, registrations, or professional designations.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications; working knowledge of industry WMS.
  • English language skills: reading, writing, and verbal.
  • Intermediate mathematical, accounting, and financial skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Adept at navigating within a matrixed organizational structure; results‑oriented, able to meet timelines, work under pressure, and multi‑task.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire others, question existing thinking, and engage across multiple levels within the organization.
  • Experience in a client‑centric environment with accountability for operations metrics and client relations.
  • Experience in budgeting, financial reviews, cost variance analysis, and leading high‑performing teams.
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals, with creative latitude and problem‑solving skills.
  • Helpful integration experience with the supply chain industry.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Third‑party logistics experience preferred (not required).
  • Involvement in relevant professional organizations desirable.
Physical Demands

Employee frequently uses hands to finger, handle, or feel objects; reaches with arms; stoops, kneels, or crouches; talks or hears. Use of computer and telephone equipment required. Daily tasks may require standing, walking, and occasional lifting. Domestic travel may be required.

Compensation

Expected base pay range: $180,000.00 – $200,000.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors such as relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location, in accordance with applicable laws and company policy.
