Qualifications

• Ability to operate Horizontal Directional Drill and other construction equipment.
• Strong knowledge of underground utilities.
• Valid state driver's license and clean driving record required.
• Must have a valid state driver’s license; CDL required.
• Background check and drug screening required.

Responsibilities

• Operate construction equipment for fiber installation.
• Setup equipment including drills and tanks.
• Cleanup area post construction.
• Communicate with Supervisor and submit required paperwork.
• Cleanup area to county or state standards.
• Work with ground-hand to place conduit and fiber underground.
• Install grounding rods and anchors.
• Follow directions from management.
• Perform any other duties assigned by supervisor/lead.
• Reverse process to install product.

Directional Drill Operator

Total Highspeed is looking for a full-time Directional Drill Operator who can work as a part of a team environment while spearheading the fiber-construction process by operating construction equipment and tools. This position calls for an organized, detail-oriented, experienced person with excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate Horizontal Directional Drill and other standard underground construction equipment.
• Sets equipment up including the drill, water tanks, and grounding machines.
• Drill out following the predetermined drill path to the exit pit.
• Communicates with Supervisor daily to turn in required paperwork (i.e. Bore log, vehicle maintenance reports, etc.)
• Cleanup area post construction to county or state standards
• Work with an equipment Ground-hand to place conduit and fiber underground setting handholes and completing tie ins.
• Use equipment to install grounding rods and anchors.
• Ability to follow directions and instructions as given by management.
• Any and all other duties assigned by supervisor/lead.
• Reverse process to install product.

Qualifications

• Be able to operate a variety of digging tools (Experience with Vermeer machines required)
• Strong knowledge of underground utilities
• Accurately measure distances, using tapes or other measuring device
• Have a High School diploma.
• Maintain a clean, courteous and professional demeanor.
• Be physically able to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
• Be willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations (Vehicle and Operator Qualifications), etc
• Have a valid state driver's license and a clean driving or safety record. CDL is required.
• Be able to work independently & efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Satisfactory results from a background/employment history investigation and drug screening
