Seeking a talented and passionate Director to helm an upcoming music video project for an independent artist based in Minneapolis. This mid-level position requires a creative visionary who can bring an exciting, high-energy pop/electronic track to life visually. The song has a vibrant, slightly surreal tone, and we’re looking for a director who can craft a narrative that complements its modern sound, possibly incorporating playful performance elements and dynamic visual effects. Your primary responsibility will be to develop a compelling treatment, collaborate with the artist and our small production team to refine the concept, and lead the production from pre-visualization through the shoot. You will oversee all creative aspects on set, guiding performances and working closely with the DP and other department heads to execute your vision. We need someone who can inspire the crew and deliver a polished final product. Applicants should have a proven track record directing at least 3-5 music videos or similar short-form narrative content. Experience working with artists and managing a small crew is essential. You must have a strong portfolio or reel showcasing your directorial style and ability to tell a story visually. Practical details: We anticipate a 1-2 day shoot, likely around October 18, 2026, or October 25, 2026, with prep starting immediately. We will provide a small crew and standard production support, but directors with access to or familiarity with specific innovative gear (e.g., LED volumes, unique lenses) are a bonus. Compensation is tbd (DOE).
