Job summary

Echoing Hills Village Inc. is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide person-centered care for individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities.

You will support daily living activities, foster dignity, and help clients reach their goals. Responsibilities include daily living assistance, emotional support, companionship, documentation, and teamwork with healthcare professionals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in caregiving roles is desirable.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.
• Reliable and responsible with good time management.
• Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide person-centered care based on clients' needs, preferences, and goals.
• Assist with personal care tasks (grooming, bathing, dressing, meals) while promoting independence.
• Offer emotional support and actively listen to clients' concerns.
• Engage in meaningful conversations and activities to encourage social connections.
• Manage and document medication administration and report concerns to healthcare professionals.
• Maintain a safe environment and follow protocols; report incidents or emergencies.
• Complete accurate documentation of client interactions and progress.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families to ensure comprehensive care.
• Participate in ongoing training and apply new knowledge to care delivery.
