Central State Community Services Oklahoma is seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) supervisor to oversee in-home care and a team of DSPs. This role emphasizes reliable attendance and compassionate daily living support.

You will coordinate planning and delivery of meals, medications, transport, and community activities while maintaining thorough care records and ensuring compliance with policies.

Responsibilities

  • Regular, predictable and reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Assist individuals to change bed linens, wash and iron laundry, and clean the living area.
  • Assist in planning, purchasing, preparing and serving food according to guidelines or special prescribed diets.
  • Assist in lifting individuals into and out of bed, car, or wheelchair as needed.
  • Assist individuals to dress, bathe, and groom themselves.
  • Administer prescribed medications under written direction of a physician.
  • Accompany individuals in home and community activities as guide and aide.
  • Help individuals secure and attend community activities to prepare for employment.
  • Provide transportation to work, therapies, or leisure activities using various transport.
  • Entertain the individual at home with reading, games, and other activities.
  • Participate in leisure activities including visits to family, swimming, etc.
  • Perform miscellaneous duties such as obtaining supplies and running errands.
  • Maintain detailed records of services and the condition of the individual.
  • Directly supervise two to twelve employees at the assigned work site; coordinate staff inservices.
  • Plan, assign, and direct the work of DSPs; schedule staff hours.
  • Evaluate staff performance regularly.
  • Support and strengthen the corporate character program.
  • Recognize and reward demonstration of character by employees and clients.
  • Correct underperforming staff and address complaints.
  • Conduct monthly staff meetings and other necessary meetings.
  • Monitor all documentation, progress notes, medications, incident reports and related logs.
  • Complete time sheets and submit payroll-related documents.
  • Maintain petty cash accounts and receipts for review.
  • Keep accounts for funds of the person receiving services when deemed necessary.
  • Ensure food, housekeeping and medical supplies are ordered and received.
  • Oversee menu selection and approve substitutions.
  • Secure approval of maintenance/repair plans.
  • Act as Health Care Coordinator and schedule/attend medical appointments.
  • Liaise with agencies, Case Manager and family members involved in services.

Assists individuals to the degree necessary to change bed linens, wash and iron laundry, and clean the living area or home.

Assists individuals to the degree necessary to plan, purchase, prepare and serve food for him/herself and other members of the household, utilizing standard nutritional guidelines and/or special prescribed diets.

Assists in lifting individuals in to and out of bed, an automobile, or wheelchair, to lavatory, and up and down stairs if assistance is necessary.

Assists individuals to dress, bathe, and groom self if assistance is necessary.

Administers prescribed oral and/or topical medications under written direction of a physician.

Accompanies individuals who are ambulatory as well as those who are not to participate in a wide variety of out of the home activities and act as a guide, companion and aide.

Assists individuals to secure and attend volunteer as well as other community vocation activities in their community in order to prepare for competitive employment.

Provides transportation to the person's work, therapies or leisure activities using public transportation, agency leased vehicles or their own vehicle.

Entertains the individual in their home by reading aloud, playing card or board games, and any other activities interesting to the individual.

Participates with the individual in a wide variety of leisure activities including visits to the individual’s family or to family gatherings, swimming, bicycling, and going to movies, concerts, church/church activities, picnics and amusement parks.

Performs a wide variety of miscellaneous duties as requested such as obtaining household supplies and running errands.

Maintains detailed records of the services performed and of the apparent condition of the individual.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises two to twelve employees at the assigned work site. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include:

  • conducting in home DSP training, scheduling and coordinating staff inservices
  • planning, assigning, and directing the work of DSPs at the work site [scheduling staff hours]
  • evaluating staff performance on a regular and scheduled basis
  • supports and strengthens the corporate character program
  • recognizing and rewarding the demonstration of character by employees, people receiving supports and other members of the community
  • correcting performance of employees that does not meet position expectations
  • addressing complaints and resolving problems
  • conducting monthly staff meetings and other meetings as they become necessary
  • monitoring all documentation, progress notes, medications, incident reports, emergency drills and procedures, telephone logs, staff communication logs, and flow charts to assure routine tasks have been completed
  • completing time sheets and bringing them to the office on the first business day following the end of each pay period
  • keeping accounts for the petty cash and bringing all receipts to the office for review on scheduled days
  • keeping strict accounting of the funds of the person receiving services when deemed necessary
  • insuring that food, housekeeping supplies and medical supplies are ordered and received
  • overseeing menu selection and, if necessary, approving substitutions
  • securing approval of a plan for any needed maintenance repairs
  • acting as Health Care Coordinator and scheduling and attending all medical appointments
  • acting as a liaison to all agencies, to the Case Manager and to all family members involved in services for the person
