Job summary

UCP of Eastern Connecticut is seeking Direct Support Professionals to assist individuals living in their own apartments. You will help with daily living, independence, community participation, and personal development.

We offer both full-time and part-time positions. Weekend shifts are available; training is provided and a comprehensive benefits package is available for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• PMT certification.
• Current driver's license, auto insurance, and a clean driving record.
• Medication Administration Certification preferred.
• Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily living skills and household routines.
• Encourage independence, choice, and self-direction.
• Support community activities, appointments, errands, and social opportunities.
• Assist with meal planning, shopping, and other household activities.
• Help individuals develop and maintain skills that increase independence.
• Follow individualized service plans and document services provided.
• Communicate with individuals, families, team members, and other professionals.
• Promote health, safety, dignity, and community inclusion.
• Use assistive technology and other supports that promote independence and safety.
• Participate in required staff meetings, training, and professional development.

UCP of Eastern Connecticut is looking for caring and dependableDirect Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our Residential Services team.

You will support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who live intheir own apartments, supporting each person to live as independently as possible, participate in their community, maintain relationships, and pursue the things that are important to them.

What You’ll Do

• Support individuals with daily living skills and household routines
• Encourage independence, choice, and self-direction

Schedule

Weekend shifts are available Saturday and Sunday at 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM.
