Job summary

Brooklyn Community Services (Inc) seeks a Recreation Counselor Direct Support Professional to join the Lifelong Enrichment Program at DOHMH 70200. This full-time role (35 hours/week, day shift) is based at 691 Fulton Street, Brooklyn, NY.

You will engage adults with IDD in social and recreational activities, assist with computer-assisted learning and communication, and complete required documentation to meet audit standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Associates degree preferred.
• Previous experience or knowledge in the IDD field is a plus.
• Work or life experience with intellectual developmental disabilities is a plus.
• Must pass OPWDD fingerprinting and background check.

• Must have good interpersonal and verbal communication skills including ability to problem solve.
• Experience with developing and creating innovative recreation and other activities.

Responsibilities
