Job summary

The Society is seeking a Direct Support Professional in Wooster, Ohio to provide day-to-day interactions, care and assistance for individuals as outlined in each Ohio IPS.

You will support ADLs, promote independence in domestic tasks, ensure safety and health, assist with transportation and community integration, document plans, and perform medication administration tasks as required. This position is part-time with potential to grow to full-time.

Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must communicate in English, including both spoken and written.
  • Must obtain and maintain certification in Medication Administration and Health Related Activities, First Aid, CPR, PMT and other courses as required.
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License, good driving record, and carry the required liability insurance amounts required by The Society.

  • Provide input for the development and implementation of Ohio Individual Support Plans including documentation.
  • Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of all individuals including all reporting and documentation per agency policy and procedure and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform medication administrative tasks, health related activities and documentation as required by DODD certification.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability; may be required to work holidays and other shifts outside of normal schedule.
  • Represent The Society with a professional attitude and positive intention while promoting effective internal and external relationships, communication and advocacy; serve as a self-motivated, dependable, flexible and collaborative leader.
  • Adhere to The Society’s policies and act as a role model in adherence to these policies.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
