Job summary

All Ways Caring HomeCare in Idaho is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide in-home care for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Hayden and nearby Coeur d'Alene. You will assist with daily living, health monitoring, and safety in a home-like setting.

You will build caring relationships, support self-help activities, document progress, and collaborate with families and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Eighteen years of age or older.
• Pass background check.
• Driver's license with valid auto insurance.
• High school diploma/GED.
• DSP certification or equivalent with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform personal care tasks including hygiene, grooming, feeding and medical monitoring.
• Foster positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support.
• Encourage self-help activities.
• Implements Individual Service Plan and Behavior Support Plans.
• Manage individuals' behaviors by prevention or de-escalation of aggression.
• Keep accurate daily documentation of activities, medications and data.
• Transport individuals to activities and medical appointments.
• Transporting clients or running errands for clients.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities

• Performing personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding, and ambulation, medical monitoring, and health care related tasks
• Fostering positive relationships between individuals served and their circle of support.
• Encouraging self-help activities
• Implements Individual Service Plan and Behavior Support Plans
• Manage Individual's behaviors by prevention or de-escalation of aggression.
• Keeps accurate daily documentation of activities, fire/ disaster drills, Behavior Support Plans, medications, goal and data tracking, as well as other documentation.
• Transport individuals to and from community activities and medical appointments.
• Transporting clients or running errands for clients
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Eighteen years of age or older
• Pass background check
• Driver's license with valid Auto Insurance
• High school diploma/GED
• Direct Support Professional (DSP) certification; or Copy of high school diploma/transcript or General Education Development (GED) diploma; and at least six (6) months of experience providing behavioral health related services to individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD), or documented experience providing specific supports to individuals with disabilities
