Job summary

Community Options, Inc. is hiring full-time Direct Support Professionals (Medical Day Program), Caregivers, Direct Care Staff and Home Health Aides in Wayne, NJ to provide person-centered care. Starting pay is $19.00 per hour and PAID training is provided, with opportunities for growth and development.

No experience required, join a team focused on supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a professional setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record.
• Ability to establish a comfortable and supportive relationship with individuals receiving supports.
• Ability to exercise good judgment and remain calm in crisis situations.
• Employment contingent upon successful criminal background checks, central registry, child abuse registry, and drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
• Assist with daily routines including cleaning, cooking, feeding, medication administration, and personal hygiene.
• Monitor health and medical needs and report concerns.
• Assist with learning and development of independent and community-based skills.
• Participate in community, social, and recreational activities.
• Transport individuals to medical appointments and activities.
• Ensure program documentation and billable records are completed accurately and timely.
• Build a support network with community members, businesses, and families.
• Additional tasks may be assigned.
• Cooperate with license and department staff in inspections or investigations.
