Job summary

The Barber National Institute in Corry, PA is hiring Direct Support Professionals for full-time 2nd and 3rd shifts (3:00pm-11:00pm and 11:00pm-9:00am), including weekends and holidays. 40 hours/week with a $1500 sign-on bonus.

Training provided, no prior experience required; compassionate individuals needed to support people with developmental disabilities. Responsibilities include assisting with daily living activities, transportation, community involvement, and advocating for clients' choices

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Pre-hire Clearances: State Police Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Clearance, FBI Clearance (if you have not lived in PA for the past 2 years).
• Ability to pass Medication Administration and CPR/First Aid Certification
• Access to a personal mobile device for work communication

Responsibilities

• Supporting individuals with daily living needs, such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management.
• Assisting individuals in becoming active members in their community, including activities, hobbies, and social events.
• Responsible for transportation to work, appointments, or social gatherings.
• Advocating for individuals' choices and ensuring they have a voice in personal care and decisions.
• Collaborating with a team of caregivers, families, and medical professionals to provide holistic, person-centered care.
