Job summary

Catholic Charities of Baltimore seeks a Direct Support Professional to help individuals with developmental disabilities live vibrant, independent lives. You will build trusted relationships and provide personalized support that honors each person’s strengths, choices, and goals.

At Gallagher Services - a Catholic Charities program, you’ll work with adults to engage in activities they love, advocate for rights, and maintain dignity in a trauma-informed care setting. Mon-Friday schedule 8 AM-4 PM.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver’s license with at least 2 years of driving experience and no more than 3 points.
• Comfortable driving agency vehicles and assisting people who use wheelchairs.
• Able to lift up to 75 pounds, stand for long periods, and provide physical assistance when needed.
• Completion of Medication Technician Training Program (or willingness to complete).

Responsibilities

• Support daily routines such as bathing, dressing, and personal care to promote dignity and independence.
• Assist with meals, encouraging healthy eating and maintaining a clean kitchen while supporting preferences.
• Be patient and respectful in action and speech.
• Advocate for each person’s rights and help build confidence and self-esteem.
• Keep clear, respectful records to ensure continuity of care and support.
