Job summary

CMCS (Cardinal McCloskey Community Services) seeks caring Direct Support Professionals to help individuals with developmental disabilities live more independent, fulfilling lives in a community-based setting.

You will provide daily living support, assist with transportation and medications, and promote dignity, choice, and inclusion in a safe, respectful environment. Prior experience with special needs is a plus and a NYS driver’s license is helpful.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or 2 years of work experience.
• A caring, upbeat personality is essential.
• Experience working with individuals with special needs is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support with daily living activities, including hygiene, cooking, housekeeping, and laundry.
• Assist with medication administration, transportation to appointments, and behavioral support as needed.
• Encourage independence and community involvement by supporting individuals in achieving their personal goals.
• Foster a positive, respectful environment that promotes dignity, choice, and inclusion.
