Job summary

Help at Home is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide one-on-one support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their homes and communities, helping them live safely, independently, and with dignity.

We offer $18-$20 per hour, a $1,000 sign-on bonus for eligible new hires, flexible scheduling, paid training, health benefits, PTO, mileage reimbursement, and ongoing career development.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old and meet at least one of the following: high school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved training program; demonstrated competency and a passing score on the required written competency test.
• Ability to successfully complete background checks and in-service training.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation with proof of insurance, vehicle registration, and inspection.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow each individual’s Individual Support Plan.
• Report updates, progress, and concerns to the IDD Program Specialist.
• Assist with daily living activities such as cooking, cleaning, grooming, hygiene, and transportation.
• Encourage participation in shopping, social events, appointments, and other community activities.
• Support individuals toward personal goals and greater independence.
• Promote personal choice, self-advocacy, dignity, and respect.
• Document services, activities, and progress.
• Communicate with team members to provide consistent, high-quality support.
