Waypoint is seeking a Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support members in our Maine programs. You will model healthy relationships, assist with daily living, and implement individualized plans to promote independence and community integration.

You will work in teams, respect privacy, ensure safety, and help with transportation, documentation, and reporting. A high school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license, and English proficiency are required; DSP/CRMA/Safety Care certifications must be

Qualifications

• Desire to work with individuals with intellectual and other disabilities.
• Willingness to implement positive behavior support and structured activities.
• Excellent communication with members, families, coworkers and professionals.

Responsibilities

• Develop a rapport with residents and cultivate a safe and supportive relationship.
• Provide support and guidance for members during skills building activities.
• Implement individual treatment plans and positive support plans for members.
• Encourage self-help skill building by supporting daily living activities including meals, cleaning, and personal hygiene.
• Mentor healthy eating choices, exercise, and overall health and wellness.
• Transport residents in approved vehicles for activities or medical appointments.
• Ensure safety and privacy, report concerns to House Manager, and follow licensing requirements.
• Collect data updates on ISP progress notes and plans daily.
• Attend required meetings and trainings and maintain certifications.
